Purpose of your role

The Cafe Assistant`s role is to work within the catering team to achieve high standards of service and customer care at all times. The role will also ensure food is hygienically prepared and served in accordance with standards laid down by the Cafe Supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities

- Carry out cleaning duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout.

 - Undertake and record temperature checks and ensure high standards of food hygiene are maintained.

 - Ensure customers are served promptly and efficiently.

 - Ensure financial and cash handling procedures are complied with.

 - Prepare food and beverages as necessary in accordance with cafe menus.

 - Replenish stocks within the cafe and vending machines.

 - Ensure the Company Health and Safety Policy and Procedures and all relevant Food Safety Legislation and smoke free law is complied with.

Essential/Desirable skills

-Hold a Certificate in Food Hygiene or a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, Intermediate   Certificate in Food Safety or equivalents are essential.

 - Hold a BIIAB National Certificate in Licensed Retailing Operations and a CIEH or RIPH Foundation or equivalent is desirable.

 - Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning, or equivalent is desirable.

 - Proven experience of working in a similar role/environment is desirable.

 - Health & Safety/COSHH awareness/knowledge.

 - Good communication and customer care skills.

 - To be able to work as part of a team and be flexible in your approach to the demanding needs of this service.

Purpose of your role

We are currently recruiting  2x Casual Receptionist based at Water Meadows Centre to work as and when the business requires. In the role of Receptionist you will be the front line customer service for the public entering the Water Meadows Centre providing an excellent customer experience through outstanding communication skills, in person, over the telephone, and dealing with enquiries. Previous experience in a customer facing role in a busy environment is key to the role of Receptionist, and there will be training offered for customer care and disability awareness.

Duties and responsibilities

Greet and book-in customers on a computerised booking system to the Leisure Centre
- Undertake a quarterly stock take and report to The Front of House and Sales Manager
- Deal with cash transactions
- Ensure relevant information is continuously available to customers
- Deal with first line customer enquires or complaints
- Interact with customers via the customer desk and telephone, including taking customer bookings
- To process Ultimate Leisure card, bonus card, direct debit applications and complete direct debit mandates for our appointed collection agency
- Ensure that the Health and Safety at Work Act is adhered to with particular reference to the duty of care provision to both the general public and colleagues alike

Key skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Demonstrable previous experience of dealing face to face with customers in a busy environment
- Maths and English GCSE level C or equivalent
- Excellent communication and customer care skills
- Basic cash handling ability
- IT ability, with computerised booking system exposure being advantageous
- The ability to remain mature and calm under pressure
- An organised, team player, with high levels of interpersonal skills

Duties and responsibilities

Provide supervision of swimming pools to ensure customer safety at all times by preventing
accidents and incidents and by taking the appropriate action in the event of these occurring.
Undertake cleaning tasks as required to ensure the centre is well presented and monitor
standards of cleanliness in customer critical areas such as changing rooms and toilets.
Maintain high levels of customer service at all times. Attend training sessions in order to demonstrate competency and maintain a valid qualification.
Undertake any other duties as required within the Centre as directed by your line manager.

Essential skills

Current Royal Lifesaving Society National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.  Ability to remain vigilant, alert and attentive. Ability to be calm and in control in pressurised situations such as emergencies.  Communication skills. Health & Safety awareness
