Purpose of your role

We are currently recruiting for 2 part time Swimming Teachers (15.5 and 9.5 hours per week) to be responsible for the safety and skill advancement of the pupils within their care.

Duties and responsibilities

 

To instruct individuals or groups in the srt of swimming or other associated activities.

To provide schemes of work and lesson plans relevant to the instruction being undertaken.

To ensure the safe use and storage of any equipment required during a lesson.

To record information relevant to each lesson content and any other associated information

To provide instruction in line with the current Swim Life Learn to Swim scheme.

To attend badge assessment sessions as required.

To promote and support the Serco Swim Life Scheme.
 

Essential skills

The ideal candidates will hold a professional swimming qualification equivalent to the Amateur Swimming Association Level 2 and hold a relevant lifesaving award equivalent to the National Pool Lifeguard and a Rookie Life Saving qualification.

- Must attend regular lesson meetings

Purpose of your role

To ensure the operational and commercial success of the Front of House department - including retail, sales and memberships via the delivery of an excellent ‘guest mentality’ approach. 

Duties and responsibilities

To ensure the delivery of a highly effective and efficient Front of House team

  • To work as part of the reception team rota and provide cover as and when required
     
  • To ensure the team deliver on a range of KPI’s that meet the needs of the business.
     
  • To ensure the effective promotion and selling of the Health and Fitness and Swimming Lesson Membership range and additional cards (eg Bonus / U-cards) within the leisure facility
     
  • To ensure the effective promotion and selling of secondary spend items and upselling opportunities – eg retail, family tickets.
     
  • To divide one’s time effectively to ensure appropriate ‘hands on’ Customer Advisor and Reception tasks are personally completed.
     
  • To produce monthly/weekly/daily report for promotions and sales.
     
  • To generate and receive telephone calls to increase business success.
     
  • To ensure the appropriate level of customer service is provided by the team during interactions, tours and communications.
     
  • To complete individual daily, weekly and monthly KPI activity reports.
     
  • To ensure effective lead generation and close out ratios through CAPS or other suitable method.
     
  • To ensure effective debt recovery from bookings and customers.
     
  • To ensure the team completes the necessary bookings with appropriate levels of detail through the FoH IT systems (eg Legend/Source detail/Swim lessons etc).
     
  • To oversee the effective operation and management of the department’s holidays & sickness levels.
     
  • To input management information where required.
     
  • To ensure all procedures are up to date and adhered to.
     
  • To undertake stocktakes as & when required.
     
  • To act upon any audits/VSA’s affecting the areas under one’s remit.
     
  • To ensure the appropriate levels of stock are available and that pricing are accurate and professionally displayed; to check deliveries match order requests process invoices for payment where required.
     
  • To ensure the correct issuing of tickets to the public and the process monies received.
     
  • To account correctly for cash and stock, including daily cash reconciliation and recording.
     
  • To maintain and produce statistical records.
     
  • To be the lead response to all enquiries (including letter and telephone calls) from users and representatives of organisations etc regarding FoH operations.
     
  • To resolve any issues regarding bookings and payments including recharges.
     
  • To ensure effective access control to and from the facility with accompanying customer data capture.
     
  • To oversee an effective  lost property system.
     
  • To train and develop colleagues at induction and through an on-going basis that meets the needs of the business.
     
  • To attend Team meetings and training as required.
     
  • To hold regular team meetings as required.
     
  • Assist in Emergency Procedures where required.
     
  • To ensure correct marketing materials are displayed and promoted on site.
     
  • To provide support to the Mansfield staff communication notices/staff newsletters.
     
  • To ensure social media channels are promoted and maintained.
     
  • To provide Duty Manager cover as and when required.

Essential skills

Minimum English and Maths GCSE or equivalent

Desirable Skills

MSM Diploma

Any sales related qualification

Fitness based qualification

Customer Service qualification

Experience of Managing Staff

Pool Lifeguard or willing to train

Pool Plant or willing to train
 

Rota/Hours  37 Hours per week, flexibility required from Monday to Sunday including evenings.

Minute Taker for the Trust Board

To prepare agendas, take the minutes of the meetings and distribute them to trustees in association with the Trust's Chairman.  The salary for the attendance, preparation and distribution of minutes etc, will be £12.00 per hour.

Trust Board Members (voluntary)

The Mansfield District Leisure Trust is seeking new trustees to lead and develop the Trust's work in partnership with Mansfield District Council in the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the provision and management of the Council's leisure facilities.

New trustees will have a passion for sport and recreation and ideally experience in management and leadership roles.  A commercial and financial background are of particular interest with strengths in marketing, strategy planning , technology or education being of relevance also.

The Trust meets between 8 to 10 times per year with its partners Mansfield District Council and  SERCO the managing agents.  Meetings take place on midweek afternoons in the Council's leisure outlets.
