Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre has the following disabled facilities:

• Disabled access facilities for wheelchair users
• Disabled access facilities for people with mobility impairments
• Toilets that are accessible for disabled people
• Staff trained to help with disabled access trained in manual handling & customer care & equality & diversity
• Specialised changing facilities that are accessible for disabled people.
• Induction loops fitted at reception
• Drop down / low counters / payment counters to ease access for disabled people
• Car parking facilities for disabled people
• A lift that is accessible for wheelchair users
• Automatic doors at entrances that can improve wheelchair access

• Modern, with bright lighting.
• Adapted changing room on poolside with changing bed and hoist.
• Adapted toilets and changing cubicles in main swimming changing village.
• Adapted changing area for first floor activity area.
• Changing rooms are close to activity areas.
• Transfer & Pool hoist for learner and main pool.
• Ramped entrance to the learner pool.
• Inclusive Fitness Initiative accredited equipment adapted for disabled people in the fitness suite.

Activities

• Fitness suite sessions with Beech Hill school.
• GP referral exercise prescription.
• Group exercise classes.
• Swimming sessions / swimming lesson. All swimming lessons are adaptive to include people with disabilities and we have specific sessions for disabled people if required.
• Disabled swimming club sessions.
• Specific disabled swimming session in the teaching pool on Mondays at lunch time 12pm -1.30pm
• Swimming technique analysis.
• Club sessions – underwater polo, lifesaving, swimming and diving.
