Looking for a fun place to bring the kids, whatever the weather? Our Active Zone at Swallows Leisure Centre is perfect for a fun-packed family day out.
There’s something for everyone to enjoy, with Clip ’n Climb for children and adults, a huge soft play area for little ones and a café serving refreshments while you relax. We recommend pre-booking your Clip ’n Climb session as spaces fill up quickly. Our soft play is available on a walk-in basis.
Clip ’n Climb
Take on exciting climbing challenges at Swale’s only fully licensed Clip ’n Climb centre.
Perfect for families, friends and first-time climbers, Clip ’n Climb is a fun and accessible way to build confidence, test your skills and enjoy something different together across 13 colourful climbing modules.
No climbing experience is needed. Our specially trained team will provide a full safety briefing before your session, and all safety equipment is included.
Our automatic belay system makes indoor climbing safe and easy, gently lowering climbers back to the ground after each challenge.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your booked session time to check in at reception. After the safety briefing, you’ll enjoy 40 minutes in the climbing arena.
Suitable for ages 5+.
Pre-booking is highly recommended as sessions fill up quickly. Walk-ins are welcome, but spaces cannot be guaranteed.
Soft Play
Let little ones climb, crawl, explore and play in our fun and welcoming soft play area.
Designed for children to burn off energy, build confidence and make new friends, our soft play features sensory lights and interactive panels to support children’s development through play.
There are two separate play areas: One for toddlers aged 0-4 years and another for children aged 5+.

Over 1s: £5
Booking is not required, so you can simply turn up and play!
Active Zone Café
There’s also a small Café area in our Active Zone where you and the kids can have a bite to eat after your Soft Play or Clip 'n Climb session. Choose from a selection of sandwiches, snacks and hot & cold drinks.
Birthday Parties
Make your little one’s birthday extra special with an exclusive hire of our soft play or Clip 'n Climb. With flexible party times, supportive staff on hand, and a welcoming, inclusive environment, it’s a stress-free way to create happy memories everyone will enjoy.
