General Swimming Session Rules
- All children under 4 years of age must be supervised by an adult on a ratio of 1:1.Children from 4-7 years can be supervised on a ratio of 2 per adult. If you have a child under 4 AND a child between 4-7, you would require 2 adults to supervise in the water. Please be aware the Rebecca Adlington Teaching Pool differs to this where 1 adult can supervise 2 under 4s subject to approved flotation devices being used. An adult is classed as 16 years and above for supervision purposes. The adult must remain within arms reach of the child and must wear appropriate swimming attire. A series of ‘Risk Assessments’ have been conducted for each individual swimming session within our programmes and certain sessions have been identified where a discretion on the ratio of adults to children may be exercised without compromising safety.
- All “non” swimmers must wear approved swimming aids such as armbands.
- All “non” and “weak” swimmers are restricted to the designated shallow areas of the swimming pool.
- All swimmers must inform a lifeguard if they suffer from any illness or disability which may affect their ability to swim. All swimmers should always swim within their own abilities and are requested to inform the Duty Manager of any specialist assistance they may require in advance of their visit.
- An adult is classed as 16 years or over. More Leisure Community Trust staff has the right to ask for proof of age.
- Customers are not permitted to use cameras, camera phones or any other image capture equipment.
