Adult & Child Swimming Lessons
Adult & Child swimming lessons at Swan Pool and Leisure Centre are perfect for babies all the way through to children that are starting school and follow Swim England's splash-tastic Discovery Duckling programme. These playful lessons are perfect for building water confidence among babies and toddlers alongside their parent or guardian.
Our lessons are an exciting bonding activity where through fun games and colourful songs we help to develop important developmental, social and swimming skills that will open the door to your child's swimming journey and the joy of independent swimming.
Non-Swimmers & Beginners Swimming Lessons
Our Non-Swimmer & Beginner Swimming lessons are ideal for primary school children starting out in the water where we provide the perfect environment for your child's water confidence to soar as they develop a lifelong love for swimming in our pool. These lessons help to teach and improve swimming strokes, build up their ability in the water as well as teach essential water safety skills. which will see your swimming superstars achieve Swim England Stage 1 & 2 Awards.
Improver & Intermediate Swimming Lessons
Nurture and develop your child's swimming skills by enrolling onto our Improver & Intermediate Swimming Lessons. These swimming lessons will help your child to make waves with their swimming progress by building on top of the key swimming skills they've learnt in their previous lessons. With us their swimming techniques will start to refine in line with the Swim England Expected Standards across all four of swimming's super strokes; front crawl, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. Our swimmers will also be introduced to the amazing Royal Life Saving Society's Rookie Lifeguard programme to improve their water safety skills in lots of different water conditions.

Advanced Swimming Lessons
Our Advanced Swimming Lessons teach quality stroke technique whilst also increasing the swimming distances of our students. All of the sensational swimming skills that our pupils have learned so far are now combined to develop linked routines and to complete obstacle courses that mix a whole host of swimming skills from previous stages. In these lessons our swimmers will also get to advance their incredible lifesaving skills. The inspiring Advanced Swimming Lessons at Swan Pool and Leisure Centre will see our swimmers finish our swimming programme with a beautiful connection with the water that will last a lifetime.
Adult Swimming Lessons
Our varied adult swimming lessons are suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced swimmers who would just like some additional coaching to improve their technique. These lessons are for those aged 16 upwards with no upper age limit.
Adults have very different needs to children when learning to swim – as an adult, you have different motivations and learn in different ways. Our adult swimming lessons take this into account, providing clear goals and targets.
Schools Swimming Lessons
Water safety is a vital life skill, which is why it is a mandatory part of the curriculum for PE at primary school.
The curriculum says pupils should be taught to perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.

We host the Swim England ‘Learn to Swim Pathway’ for all ages and abilities. Lessons are fun and engaging, with badges and certificates awarded to reward progress and giving you full access to the next stage, keeping you motivated to achieve your goals.
